THE PROCESS

FROM FIRST HELLO TO FINAL GALLERY – THE EXPERIENCE

01

Step 1: Let´s connect

Reach out and share what you’re dreaming of for your family session — whether it’s a small family gathering, a full extended family portrait, or anything in between. I’m here to listen, offer ideas, and help shape your vision.

You can easily book your session through the BOOK YOUR SESSION HERE link, or feel free to reach out if you have any questions that aren’t covered in my Q&A. My goal is to make this process smooth so you feel confident and prepared every step of the way.

02

Step 2: Secure Your Date

Newborn sessions are best done within the first 1–21 days after birth, when babies are sleepiest and easiest to pose naturally.

If you book through the BOOK YOUR SESSION HERE link, I’ll confirm your date, time, and location first, then send over your agreement to review and sign. If I send you a proposal, your date is secured with a signed agreement and 50% retainer.

In both cases, I’ll provide preparation tips, parking info (if needed), and a reminder the day before to confirm everything so you feel ready.

03

Step 3: Prep & Plan

This step is all about making sure your newborn is comfortable and the session goes smoothly.

Age range: I recommend scheduling between day 1 and 21. The earlier days often mean the baby is sleepier and more content during the session.

Feed the baby right before the session so they’re full, calm, and relaxed.

Keep the baby in a loose diaper or outfit to avoid marks on their skin before we start.

Warm the room (for in-home sessions) to help the baby stay cozy if they’ll be unwrapped at times.

Bring or have on hand a pacifier (if baby uses one), extra swaddles, and anything soothing they like.

You’ll also receive my full PDF styling and prep guide with these tips and more to help you feel confident and prepared.

04

Step 4: Your Session Day

Your newborn session is designed to be relaxed, flexible, and baby-led. I’ll gently guide you through natural poses and capture both the little details (tiny fingers, toes, yawns) and sweet family moments. We’ll take breaks as needed for feeding, soothing, and cuddles — no rush, no pressure. The goal is a calm experience where your baby’s comfort always comes first.

05

Step 5: Gallery Delivery & Keepsakes

Your fully edited gallery will be ready within the promised timeline:
Mini & Deluxe Mini Sessions – within 21 days
Signature & In-Studio Sessions – within 14 days

(2 days for rush delivery at $250)

You’ll receive a private online gallery to view, download, share, and select favorites for prints, albums, or keepsakes. I’m happy to assist with album design or recommendations for printing and framing to help you preserve these memories beautifully.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

01. When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?

I recommend scheduling your newborn session when your baby is between 1 and 21 days old. This is when they’re sleepiest and most comfortable for gentle posing.

I usually recommend scheduling your session during golden hour — the hour right after sunrise or before sunset — for soft, flattering light. In most cases, I suggest morning sessions for the best light, cooler temperatures, and fewer crowds.

The exception is at the Rose Garden, where sunset creates especially beautiful light — that’s the ideal time for that location. I’ll help guide you to the best timing for wherever you choose!

02. Where can we do the session?

Newborn sessions can be done at your home (natural light lifestyle session), outdoors in mild weather, or in a rented studio (studio rental up to $300/hour). I’ll help you choose the best option based on your vision.

03. Do you provide guidance on what to wear?

Yes! You’ll receive my PDF styling guide with outfit tips for parents, siblings, and your baby. I’m also happy to review outfit choices or assist with my client wardrobe (if available).

04. Can we include siblings or pets?

Absolutely — newborn sessions include parents, siblings, and even pets if you’d like. We’ll create a mix of family and individual shots in a relaxed, baby-led flow.

05. What’s your photography style?

My style is light, natural, connection-focused, and true-to-color. I focus on genuine moments — no stiff poses or forced smiles. The tone of your images reflects natural light and the weather on your session day.

06. What happens if the weather is bad?

If we’re planning an outdoor newborn session, I will reschedule for rain or unsafe conditions. I don’t reschedule for cloudy or sunny weather, as both create beautiful images.

07. Do you retouch the images?

Your gallery will be edited in my clean, natural, true-to-color style. I gently soften minor distractions (like stray hairs or blemishes) but don’t use Facetune, remove wrinkles, or swap faces. Advanced retouching is available for $30–$100 per image.

08. How long will it take to get our photos?

Your gallery will be ready within 14 days, or 2 days with rush delivery for $250.

09. How do we book, and what’s required to secure the date?

You can book through the BOOK YOUR SESSION HERE link. I’ll confirm details and send your agreement. If I send a proposal, your date is secured with a signed agreement and 50% retainer.

10. Can we order prints or albums?

Yes — your gallery makes it easy to order high-quality prints, albums, and keepsakes. I’m happy to help with recommendations or album design.

11. Do you have insurance?

Yes! I carry full liability insurance. If your location requires proof of insurance for photography, just let me know and I’ll provide the documentation.

12. Do we need a photography permit?

Some locations, especially monuments, gardens, or parks, require a photography permit. I’m happy to help guide you on what’s needed for your chosen location, and it’s the client’s responsibility to secure the permit if required.

13. Do we sign a contract?

Yes — to protect both you and me, every session includes a simple photography agreement outlining the session details, what’s included, and policies for rescheduling, delivery, and use of images. You’ll review and sign this as part of securing your booking.

14. What’s your rescheduling policy?

I do my best to be flexible while keeping the schedule fair for all clients.

First reschedule is complimentary if requested at least 21 days before the session.
Second reschedule — $250 fee applies.
Third reschedule — full session price applies.
Reschedule within 21 days — $250 fee.
Reschedule within 24 hours — $350 fee.
Reschedule within 12 hours — session fee is forfeited; full price applies to rebook.

For sessions booked within 21 days of the session date, any reschedule request will follow the late reschedule fee structure (starting at $250), unless due to rain or a documented emergency.

Please note: I don’t reschedule for sunny or cloudy weather, as both create beautiful photos. I only reschedule for rain, unsafe conditions, or emergencies.

In case of a documented medical emergency, you may request a free reschedule or a refund (minus non-recoverable costs).
